Cows & Chickens: You’re Eating Whatever They’ve Eaten

by healthybydesignblog

How are diseases like cancer actually encouraged by our modern diet?

I’m a country girl, and when I was little, my granddaddy had cows out in the pasture eating grass. Grass contains Omega 3s, which fight inflammation. Chickens, too, when allowed to do their own thing, will eat grass and bugs. That’s what is meant when you see the term “free range”.

Most of the meat we eat now, is not only full of antibiotics, chemicals, and growth hormones, which are bad for us, too – especially processed meat – but the meat (or egg) is now missing a natural balance between Omega 3s and Omega 6s. We are now eating meat with almost no Omega 3s, and very high in Omega 6. Omega 3s FIGHT inflammation, Omega 6s PROMOTE inflammation. Inflammation is the root of many diseases, particularly arthritis and cancer, etc.

After WWII, farming and agriculture methods changed and instead of cows and chickens being able to feed in lush green pastures, the demand for meat was so high, large farming organizations wanted to speed up the production. Pasture grass feeding was not a cheap way of doing things, as it takes a lot of grass to feed these large animals. The cows and chickens were moved indoors in most cases on a cement floor and fed corn. The animals grew bigger and faster as a result, and the natural balance of Omega 3 and Omega 6 in our meat was never the same. (For more information on this, see the book mentioned below, Anti-cancer.)

Genetically Modified Foods (GMO)

Now, one final thing about this subject. Not only are the animals corn fed now rather than grass fed, the corn that they are being fed is genetically modified (GMO). This means that scientists have taken a plant DNA, and spliced it with DNA from BACTERIA, VIRUSES, AND ANIMALS. One result of this process, is that the bacteria in our gut becomes contaminated with this human-engineered stuff. See the plant DNA is combined with the DNA from Bacteria and Viruses, so that it will produce it’s own toxins to kill the bugs that are trying to eat it. An expert explained to us this weekend, that the bacteria in our gut splices genes, too, and we can literally begin to produce our own toxins as a result of consuming GMO foods. One of the world’s largest companies known for GMO foods was literally run out of Germany recently, and guess where they relocated? Raleigh, NC!

Guess what else is full of GMO corn, many of the cereals you and your kids are eating for breakfast. But that’s a topic for another day.
